Southport BSAC was formed in 1968 by a group of eight divers including Pete Markham, who remains an active member to this day.

We meet every Wednesday at the Dunes Swimming Pool, Southport from 8 until 9pm, for swimming, snorkelling and scuba training. We then adjourn to Southport Football Club for our “Shout”, from 9.15 til 11pm, where we discuss dive planning, training and general chat.

We own 2 Ribs (Rigid Inflatable Boats), which we use throughout the year for dive trips varying from a day in Liverpool Bay to a week-long trip to the Scottish Islands.

We also have a large amount of pool training kit, which means you have no initial investment when you start to learn, as everything you need to start your training is provided. The investment you will need is in time attending the training days and in the kit you require for the “Open Water” sessions which are usually carried out in a local quarry or on club trips.
